Australia to refuse visas for domestic violence offenders

domestic-violence

Under a new directive from the Australian government, visitors to Australia can be kicked out or refused entry if they have prior convictions of domestic violence. The conviction doesn't have to come from Australia - they can be refused entry for any domestic conviction from any country.

Immigration Minister David Coleman states that violent offenders are not welcome within Australia. This new initiative will push Australia one step further towards being a safer community.

Migrant women find more independence in Australia

migrant-women-in-australia

A new study has found that a majority of women migrants have found more independence here in Australia than they did in their home countries. Women migrants find that they can become more financially, politically, and religiously independent and as a result have better control over their daily lives. The study also found that the women had more access to opportunities such as education, employment, and health.
