Migrating to Cairns? Here are the Best 5 Suburbs to Live In

Map of Australia

Migrating to a new city can be a stressful ordeal. There is so much to do and plan before you make the move. But perhaps the biggest question you may have is where exactly do you live? When you’re not familiar with a city it can be hard to find an area that is suitable to your lifestyle. So if you’re planning on migrating to Cairns here are our 5 top suburbs to live in!

  1. Redlynch

This suburb is best for migrants who are looking to raise their families in Cairns. Just a 20 minute drive from Cairns’ city centre, Redlynch is a perfect getaway from the busy city but still close enough if you need to get to the city for work. Surrounded by creeks, waterfalls, mountains, walkways, and parks, Redlynch offers a serene atmosphere of nature – which you and your family can explore on the weekend!

As for amenities, Redlynch is home to a shopping centre which has all your basic needs. Additionally, your kids are spoiled for choice for education with the suburb being home to two of Cairns’ best schools.

  1. Trinity Beach

If you always dreamed of living near a tropical beach, then Trinity Beach is the suburb for you! The actual beach at Trinity Beach is a favourite with Cairns locals – with pristine sands, calming waves, and overhanging palm trees that provide shade from the hot Australian sun. The esplanade just beyond the beach is a hub of restaurants, cafes, and bars.

The suburb has been named the new ‘Palm Cove’, which is a popular beach suburb and holiday spot north of Cairns. But, Trinity Beach is a better suburb to settle down in then Palm Cove for a number of reasons. The suburb is closer to the city therefore the work commute won’t be as long. Additionally, it is less expensive than Palm Cove.  So if your Australian migration dream is to live in a relaxed beach area, then Trinity Beach is the suburb for you.
