On March 13, severe tropical cyclone Pam hit the shores of Vanuatu. Since then, 70% of the country’s population have been displaced. Aid agencies say conditions in Vanuatu are among the worst that they have ever faced. The Category Five cyclone has left thousands in need of shelter, food and water.
No Borders Group has decided to make a donation to the Red Cross Foundation to help with the relief efforts. With the initiative, the Red Cross will be providing safe drinking water, restoring sanitation systems to prevent disease outbreak, help provide shelter for those whose homes have been damaged by winds and flooding. The reason Red Cross was chosen as our charity organisation was because they have one of the highest percentage of funds donated to the people in need, and also, they offer emotional support to the people that have been affected especially those who have lost love ones and homes to this terrible storm.
No Borders Group is a company which believes making a difference in peoples’ lives. With our company values and personal values, we felt it necessary to show our sympathy anyway we can to the many families that have been displaced.
