How long will it take until my visa is granted?

Every application is different and processing times largely depend on the type of visa being applied for, whether you are in or outside Australia while applying and what documents you provide with your application. Complete applications with all necessary supporting documentation will generally be processed faster than incomplete applications.
In general it will take most applicants for permanent residence visas 9 to 12 months to receive a decision on their visa application (including the time required to get your skills assessed and to prepare the application before lodging your visa application). Spousal visas and temporary visas generally do not require as much time (approximately 3 to 9 months).
