No, your marriage to an Australian citizen will not provide you with an automatic grant on your spousal visa application. You have to show that your relationship is genuine, exclusive and continuing. That means you will need to present evidence of your relationship that you and your partner share financial commitments; share responsibilities within your household and your relationship is seen by your friends and family. Evidence could be phone bills, receipts from purchases, life insurance policies, letters, travel tickets, photos and so on. You will also have to undergo an interview at DIAC to answer questions about your life, your partner and his family as well as some matters of your relationship to show if your relationship is a long term commitment.
